Lena Haug: has been teaching and training horses since she was in high school. Lena has studied many different approaches to horsemanship, spending time as an intern and a participant in many clinics. By keeping her own education as a priority to teaching children and adults alike, she has a teaching style that blends discussion while also encouraging self exploration between human and horse. Lena is a certified TIP trainer and has years of experience gentling mustangs and bringing them into a riding environment. Check out her website for more details: www.lenahaugtraining.com
Alissa Mayer : Drawing from her background as an equine professional with a bachelor's degree in Equine Business Management, 9 years as a natural hoof trimmer, 6 years as a Somatic educator and as a lifelong student of both classical dressage and natural horsemanship, Alissa has been teaching lessons and giving clinics for 15+ years. Her program, A Somatic Approach to Horsemanship, is focused on mind-body integration, healthy posture for both horses and riders, and building connection. My teaching philosophy seeks to improve all levels of students in safety, body awareness and communication between horse and human. Building towards understanding basic horse behavior and biomechanics, to handling our equipment and our horses in ways that encourage harmony and discourage bracing, to building the basic skills necessary for self-carriage and collection into our foundation training and riding. Alissa is based in Oakridge, Oregon and makes the trek to Windhorse Ranch every 6 weeks or so to teach. Check out her website for more details: www.alissamayer.com
